I could not get any N to P selection @ 500mA Id I could not get any NN nor any PP selection at 2A Id I could get NN, NN, NN from 500mA to 1.3A of Id, well short of 2A I could get PP, PP from 500mA to 1.3A of Id, again well short of 2A. These were specifically bought as matched quads specifically for the F5x. I got rubbish that met Zhou's spec not the F5x spec. From my 16 devices @ premium price and a lot of work measuring and measuring again I have enough for one very good NN & PP channel and enough for a NN & PP nearly good channel. For the other two channels I am no where near to good matches.

We can argue how well matched the left and the right channel devices should be.
Especially for amplifiers with negative loop feedback (in the case of F5X about 30dB), you can get away with less than ideal match between channels. But I agree that matching at working Id (and Vds if possible) is more important, especially for Toshibas as they have a smaller Vgs than, e.g. IRFPs. So ideally you should lobby Zhou to match at 2A at least. Keeping the temperature of the MOSFET under control is a bit more tricky than matching at 500mA and Vds = Vgs. In the end, it is the amount of work required, and as a result how much you are prepared to pay. Plus that Zhou has the FETs, but probably not the time (and perhaps also interest) to do large scale, complicated matching. Patrick
