O2 amp Australian parts GB

From what I was told the front panels should have been finished today, but don't hold your breath! BF was given envelopes and stamps to cover the front panels.
For postage - The kits inc enclosure weighs less than 500g so it will be express post ($9.20 per satchel but discount to $8.74 for a 10 pack) which is below the $10.56 allowance. Multiple orders I assume were multiples of $10.56 (ie 2 orders $21.12 postage) which will easily be covered with a 3kg express post bag.
International guys I will use the budget up to $25 and get it there quickest means.
What I would like to do is load shed the forensic accounting to a few people to work out WTF happened. I will ask BF to post all of the invoices so we know what he paid in Aussie dollars and then go from there, however I don't think he got hosed by fluctuations in the Aussie dollar.
If someone would be happy to nominate, we could send a message of what we paid and what we expected to get and then see how the numbers fall out.
Thoughts?

I think BF had hoped that multiple orders would fit within the 3kg limit and that postage costs wouldn't change for multiple orders.

I'd be happy to nominate for the financial forensics job.

I've already got copies already of the mouser order and e14 order for enclosures and was planning on looking through it for my own understanding this weekend. I also took a copy of BF's spreadsheet to ensure any changes to it didn't mess up records of where we were supposed to be at early on.

Off the top of my head the grey areas financially for me were:
- the real cost of machining - spreadsheet that I have from BF nominates $12 for machining. He's never mentioned that in the thread or anywhere publicly.
- the amount paid for the aus/international plug adapters
- the amount that was actually paid for pcbs

The vagueness of BF's updates makes it hard to track these things in a timeline but I may try put something together for that too.

Cheers, I just had a look at the spreadsheet and the postage was a flat rate of $10.56, Ill see if what I pick up from paul I can pay peter with 8.74 v 10.56 v 12.55 for the 3kg bag. I'm thinking and typing out loud which can be dangerous especially after a few beers and a nice single malt!
So far I have got details for 20 people out of the GB and will hit up BF for a copy of everyone else's address and hope what is on the spreadsheet is correct.
Time to start checking the 20 packages I have got details for!

I'm happy to offer any assistance either of you need. hochopeper , let me know if you need any help wading through paper work.

I'd love to have a copy of whatever paperwork/spreadsheets you have.

Possibly could we each check it independently, and then compare notes?

I'll PM you my email address.

Oh, and as if it hasn't already been said enough already, cheers, ddw.

Email sent.

For everyone else what I'll do is tomorrow AM I will remove addresses and names from the documents and post them here as attachments. I will happily send unedited copies of files to anyone from the GB who wishes to send me a PM.

I have a spreadsheet from when BF originally posted the Mouser order details where I've checked part substitutions and I checked that the order was sufficient for 55 kits as BF originally stated. I will post a link to this too once I've double checked it. Really its a copy of the Mouser order with part substitutions made by BF noted. It was how I came up with the part substution notes that I posted here #216

Finding a few issues here and there but better than 50% is correct. I am only gross error checking - number of batteries, PCB's, enclosures. There may be some horse trading once you go to build the kit, I don't have the time or inclination to check every single component.

I support this approach. Once you start checking every individual component you'll be on a slippery slope for sure!

We have no idea how BF has handled any of the ESD sensitive components, we can only hope that it is with care. There is no way you could know either.

Time for that Adelaide brew yet?

To BF's credit, he packed almost everything in antistatic bags - even resistors. While he didn't really need to do this, it indicates that he was trying to do the right thing.

I finished my amp tonight, and it works.

The really good news:
Mistertaz
Vince3141
Beejones
MilSpec
Orders will be going in an express post bag tomorrow since its less than 500g (paid $10.56 for postage but costs $9.20).

The other really good news:
hochopeper (inc one extra PCB and qusp's batteries)
ianrt
safetydank
musical
zeffa
Orders will also be going express post tomorrow because I'll slip in the extra $5.51 (costs $12.55 but paid $10.56, but 'made' $5.44 from the first 4 guys).

Sashaw, EFHEATH, Coolhead, Neob, Nikon1975 (with four extra batteries), and bobkojek since you're all overseas I will wait until I get your front panel(s) before posting your kits unless you really want them sent straight away.

@Polak - Confirm you want 5 boards in total.
@Sqveak - Confirm your order.
@Insideout - Confirm components only and no PCB's.

The not so good news is the complete kit I paid for on Wednesday night is not here. What I think might be the case is BF has allocated it to someone who he gave a refund to, now I just need to find out who!

If your name has not been mentioned it means I haven't heard from you or I just missed it, either way send me a message so we can get this finished. I will chase up what I can from BF but it sometimes feels like an exercise in futility.
It looks like I have 'about' 12 batteries, 6 PCB's and 3 enclosures 'left over'. I say about because I haven't checked the other orders to see if they are correct, or my order.

NVM i didnt read properly.

just a note, i'm guessing that BF didnt actually go to express anything with batteries, you may have trouble sending anything with batteries express, as its not always possible to send by air. they arent in a device, so that helps, but before you seal anything it might be worth making this enquiry

They're going with hochopeper's order - he said in his PM to post it with his stuff... I covered it in post #512.

yeah sorry i didnt catch that next to his moniker before i let the rant out =) went back to edit; but too late it seems. soz its just been a pretty frustrating process for such a small order lol.

Its still worth it, as they make shipping anything from mouser pretty expensive and most available locally arent as high capacity. these ones are exactly the same as the ones they are replacing in my Lisa III before i sell it and the other 2 for one of the O2 builds

For the guys not mentioned in post #512 I will get your address off of BF and once he sends it to me I'll get it shipped (given BF's modus operandi it would be quicker to send it in a PM).
For the guys in Australia it will more than likely go click and send instead of express post unless you want to slip me a few bucks to send it express post - I have to draw the line somewhere and after paying the postage for the front panels to be send when they're ready and for a complete kit I haven't got my f**k-it valve just popped.
