why is there so much interest in this fet, I have never seen it mentioned in any diy threads?

You mean the complete PCB as shown? Or a little PCB for a cascaded CCS?

I would be interested in a little PCB for a cascaded CCS.

Bas I was referring to the complete pre but not a problem to crop it to a small PCB. I'd prefer to maintain the heatsink on the PCB because FETs need to be isolated and this way thing are much easier and safer. What about the B+ regulator? Included on PCB or not? You need a super clean B+ when using the CCS as mu-follower.
