GB Thread for Salas SSLV1.1 BiB shunt reg

I want 2 Hypnotize. Is it the blue version of the DCDb1? I was also told that the reg is already built in on the Hypnotize so no need for off board shunt reg. It would be nice if the kit or minikit is available for the DCDb1 also.

Yes, it is the Blue hot rod reg of DCB1, it has its own optimized reg.

Ed Lafontaine does some minikits for the DCB1's.

Hi.
I am looking forward to building these regulators soon.

Could you comment on maybe using the IRF610 and 9610 for the shunt element as well as CCS. I have enough for both positions. What would the disadvantage be?

Thanks

They lack transconductance, so they will up Zo 3fold VS 530/9530. Will hover between the MOSFET and BJT version as for Zo median. The tricky part is they will extend the OLG drastically enough that oscillations can not be out of the picture by prediction, if not confirmed stable in practice. On a positive note, Zo will be flatter in the higher regions. If you will decide experimenting with them since you got many, use 2u2 output Zobel film capacitors. Not bigger.

Group Buy Round 2 info, Please read

I am opening up payment of the second round of group purchase of the Salas BiB regulator, and DCB1 Hot Rod boards. The GB will close on Sept 12th 2011 @ 12AM EST

Cost are on the spreadsheet. Shipping is based on the boards included, and shipping extra is padded into the minikit costs if purchased with the boards. Paypal address is in
cell H1, please don't delete.

In order for your order to be processed properly,
Please make sure your paypal transaction includes your DIYAUDIO username, what your purchasing, and has a proper shipping address on it. Failure to include this will lead to either harassing messages or an unfilled order on my part. I can't emphasize enough how much this helps keep things going smoothly.

The below minikits are available and include the following parts. This is for the BiB voltage regulator only.
Ed Lafontaine may be able to provide minikits for the DCB1's.

@ferynov - I never included schottky diodes for them, it was discussed, but did not happen. Too many people have their own flavors. If I do it, I want to offer TO-220 Cree Silicon Carbide ones, but they would be 8.00 a set of 4. They might possible sound bad too. I have yet to try them. I could offer them as a separate line item if there is significant interest.
