> Is the cost of individual case shipping from Mark Lai already known?

He is not going to do that in any case because:

a) it is too much work for one person who already has to arrange manufacturing, inspection, shipment, .....;
b) from experience also more expensive than bulk shipment;
c) if any shipment delays etc he has 25 answers to cater for instead of 3-5 max.

This was mentioned right at the start.

Thanks Patrick, for your clarification. I memorized that there were three recipients for bulk shipping of cases on the different continents.

I was referring to this part of Uwe's statement:

.....
Please decide what's more convenient for you, bulk shipping of heatsinks and cases to Austria and afterwards individual shipping of case kit + heatsinks to you or direct shipping of heatsinks from John and case kits from Mark Lai.

BR, Uwe
So, the option marked in bold does not exist with respect to individual case kit shipping on behalf of Mark Lai.

I think if you look at the numbers from John and Uwe, you will most probably come to the conclusion that bulk ship sinks & case parts separately to the 2 US & EU distributors, and then putting the two together to ship to the individuals, will work out to be the most economical solution.

Asia has a special solution because a) there is only 3 of them, & b) Both John & Mark are in Asia. So they will get shipped individually. I think it also makes sense that way.

so far hesener, flg and Andrew T (2) are the only ones that did not order heatsinks
I confirmed 1 case, option 2 long time ago.
I then confirmed 2 cases, option 2 when spares became available.

Without machined heatsinks to fit the fixing holes of the GB case, the F5x cannot work.

I did NOT "not order heatsinks".

Heatsinks, 2 pairs, 4 in total must be included to get my two sets of stereo F5x working !!!

Heatsinks should have been an opt out if not required.

Euvl, plan for cheapest delivery to UK, even if surface mail.

I realise the confusion this list is creating, being as it may, I knew of as least one other subscriber who had acquired a pair of heat sinks already and was debating whether to join the heat sink GB.

I did not what to give assumption the benefit of doubt, the list is there for a reason.

Please refer to EUVL’s #62 post for clarity;

Not included :

1 Pair Conrad Heat Sinks MF35-151, drilled and tapped to our drawing

A few questions to those who ordered Option 2.
Please agree on one answer for us to implement for all 24 cases on Option 2.

1. Hardware power on/off switch - yes/no?

Suggest Digikey # 679-1246-ND.
But we can also just provide a pilot hole 1.5mm for maximum flexibility.
Suggest to be placed to the immediate right of the PowerCon connectors.

2. Spkr protection relay - What model?

Suggest 50A 12V standard automotive relay, similar to :
FRC2 C 12 - 50A Hochstromrelais FRC2 12V, 1 Wechsler - Miniaturrelais Omron bei Reichelt Elektronik

> 3. Fuse holder for mains Tx and AUX Tx. Which type?

Suggest we drill pilot hole 1.5mm and allow for 13mm panel opening size.
Can also pre-drill 13mm.

4. Main connector ?

Suggest Neutrik PowerCon, or 16 or 20mm strain relief from Lapp Cable (e.g. Buerklin 16H2852) :
https://www.buerklin.com/

5. Spkr terminal -10mm hole or 1.5mm pilot drill ?

6. Neutrik XLR input connector for input ?

Suggest Neutrik NC3FAAV2 :
NEUTRIK|NC3FAAV2|SOCKET, XLR, PCB, VERTICAL, 3POLE | Farnell Deutschland

7. Max. size for aux power t'former :

15VA, 60 dia x 30H max.
(Mine was from DK, but they seem to be discontinued.)

8. M4 earthing bolt on LHS of PowerCon ?

Be nice to each other while coming to an agreement.... ;)

As long as it is easy to procure the connectors, or, better, we include them in the package (with extra cost), I think it is better to have a product as final as possible. But anyway most of the things we are talking about are on the rear panel, so not so visible, even if the drilling does not come so good as it can be done industrial.

Can I ask the output voltage of the 15 VA transformer ? I always have to fight with the 100V issue in Japan.

Thanks,

Davide
