Correct me if I am wrong, but my understanding was Nikon was going to simply buy the resistors, and it was up to us to do any matching. It sounded like they came reasonably close in value from the factory.

Your understanding is correct.

But we are close to 800 resistors now, and not one person has volunteered to match.
Nikon cannot, because of his traveling.
I cannot, because of traveling, and because of 19-35% import tax, dependent on whether I am lucky.

So either you accept them as is (10%), or order 50% more per person and self match, or pay someone to match.

Or, one of you volunteers.

Depending on how well you want to match.

If you want to match to say 0.1%, then I suggest group matching (between a few of you) from a batch 100.
Then you have next to no waste.
