Default Very good decision to mount transistors this way

as this reduces board size and cost....also i had some troubles with " L " shape adaptors made os strange metal alloy that does not work fine as heatsink.

Thank you as you have increase rail resistance wattage.

regards,

Carlos

Rudi, it might be a good idea to put up a wiki page. By this you can have an accurate information center. If you want any help with this, send me a message. Click at the link at my sig for an example.

BTW: I have set up a wiki page for my soft start. At this very minute I'm not completely ready.

Rudi, a recommendation from me is that you have the designators in the silk print and they should also be visible when the part is mounted. It's much easier to mount troubleshoot when you clearly can see R1, C13 etc.

Default Rudi, if you want to follow Peranders advice, the be free to include

the designators in the silk screen if you understand this may be good...seems crowdy to me...but people has different ideas about, and i want to let you free to develop the board your style.

Thank you Peranders...you are clearly trying to help... a very valuable support you're giving to us.

regards,

Carlos

Carlos, check the picture a couple of posts above, not particularly crowdy. It's also easier to identify for instance R14. An another thing is when(not if) you change a part value. It's rather irritating to have the values printed when they are not valid. In the industry it's virtually non-existant to have values printed.

Default Oh!... this is a very long and old story i can tell only by direct mail

An audio message to you...if interested to know, then go to:

nanabrother@hotmail.com

A long fight to convince people to remove part numbers from the board and to place the values..... there are reasons...people can see part numbers having an image with part numbers..so, they can refer to part numbers when needing.

I do think, people needs, to assemble, the values printed in the board, as silk screen, that will be covered by the component itself after building..so..board clean of too much informations... things we need just once when we build and never more.

Needing details of 6 years struggle...come to my email.

regards,

Carlos

2) You see the little dot on one primary winding of the on-board transformer?
This is where the winding starts, and I wanted to keep it.
Why has the polarity of the winding any importance here (although you already have changed it)?
