Deanbob,
I will try again. It was before the changeover that I had tried and maybe I am wrong but my memory tells me you did not have email enabled. I see that it is now. I do have around 200 unmatched left and if you are still interested you are welcome to as many as you would like. Uriah

The range is large and just depends on the characteristics of those 4 LDRs that it takes to make two stereo pots. I have ordered another 500 LDRs and first testing tells me they will find themselves from 5k-15k on average. The 5k LDRs could be used with a 200k pot and end up being quite a bit higher, like into the 15-20k range. I have not figured out all 4 match points yet and need to read over a lot of data to determine that. The first round of matching helps a lot but does not set the other 3. The 2nd round usually sets the next 2 rounds of matching. So I can guarantee 5-15k and that is usually the range anyway. Uriah

Have had another customer tell me his Prometheus is now on the sidelines and another is putting his tubed preamp up for sale on ebay
Glad that those of you who bought on the last buy have been so successful building the LDR based potentiometer and are loving it so much. Uriah

Uriah:
One more dopey question before I order: is there any reason why the Lightspeed Attenuator won't work in an active preamp? I'm thinking about using it with a buffer (specifically, Pedja Rogic's buffer -- see http://www.justblair.co.uk/buildpedbuff.html) and your my_ref RevC amp boards. Regards, Scott |

Scott,
I used it with the MyRef without anything else at all. Beautiful. Yes you can use it with a buffer or anything else that would use a pot. Thats all it really is anyway, a pot. Just made with two resistors that vary rather than one that is divided with a wiper. Uriah

Hi Uriah,
Although you probably mentioned it in an e-mail or elsewhere, what is the ETA for the LDR's from this group buy, as I've forgot. Cheers! |
