Thanks,
does this mean that the circuit is still the same as in post#1, just PCB Layouts have changed meanwhile?
Cheers, Frank

Layout has been changed to host different components, such as bigger R in the CCS set, film cap in Vref bypass, TO220 diodes in the bridge and double cap (per side) after the bridge.

What a pity, because you only get the Nichicon KG 4700F/35V Super Through in 30mm diameter...

BTW, any recommendations about the max/min capacitance that makes sense in SQ?

With space for two caps you'll have more than you need at any rate.

IIRC Salas was recommending something around 3000uF but people have gone a lot higher than that in some builds. As always - the more the merrier

That reminds me though, the threads for the CDB1 are quite lengthy and discus different variations. Is there a full schematic+BOM somewhere as a reference? And if not, let's make one as a guideline and put it somewhere visible. I for one don't know the full list of materials just yet ...

NVM, it's all in this thread already. I just hadn't gone trough the whole lot yet.

The older blog entry I have for DCB1 has a BOM entry and the basic schematic's. I'd rather not add it to the current blog entry. I could make a seperate one with schematic's and a smaller BOM at some point.

The BOM (4.3?) itself could use some tidying up, as the Mesmerize is not a current option.
It of course it is a BOM for guidance. People can order what they want for the most part.

start a thread/blog for DCB1blue.
This needs it's own BOM with options.
It is specifically designed to be flexible in components values and types.
It is specifically intended for higher current.
It deserves it's own space, but it must be kept clear of DCB1black to avoid complete confusion.

I still haven't a lot of feedback on the type of resistor pack's people might be interested in.
This would be a resistor pack for the B1 portion. 220R x4, 220K x 2, 1M X 2.
PRP would be about 4.00 a set.
Takman Rex would be about 6.00 a set. I am not sure the Rex would be available for certain. Stock was iffy last time, and I had to go through several vendors to cobble it all up. The rex was quite popular last run, although in this pre in my system, I didn't care for them.

Of course there are other choices we would do. Caddocks, Texas Instrument's and the like, but the cost jumps sky high.
