thanks for the replies. I have ordered the Antek toroid from the linked web site, it was painless and I already have the tracking number.

This enclosure looks pricey, but it should work. I guess the cost might not be too bad since it includes the heat sinks.

You might want to confirm that heatsink is enough for the task first.

"The transformer is an Antek AN-4218 (400VA 18-0-18) from www.antekinc.com for $37 plus $10 shipping."

Default GN8128 is the discount code

Antek was asked if preferential pricing might be available for the AN4218 transformer. John was gracious enough to extend the discount to members who use the discount code.

My boards are in. Thanks!

Ed,
Could you post a link to the discount code?

Uuhm, ...well, it is in the title block of my response.

But for those who missed it, here it is again: GN8128

Just make John w/ Antek aware that you are using the discount code when you order from him. If you use P$yp$l, include it in the comments section with your payment.

John's one of the good guys.

Which of the F series amplifiers would these work for? Would one each be suitable for a stereo setup? Would 2 work for monoblocks?

The VA recommended for a stereo F5 amp is 300. The Antek AN4218 is rated @ 400 VA.

Then, What amps should the Antek AN4218 be used for? Since this was in a thread for the F5 I thought it was to be used for F5 or possibly other F series amps.

Default heatsinks

Quote:
I used Conrad MF35-151.5 heatsinks and they worked very well.
I am still looking for a source for these heatsinks, are they only available directly from Conrad?
