Default cox t8 vision mixer help

hi, i recently aquired a cox t8c vision mixer that was supposed to be working but doesnt look like it is, i was told by someone that there should be two cables that go between the rack unit and the control unit, but i only have the one i dont want to make one up just in case there is a twist in the cable or something, has anyone ever worked or used one of these? and help would be gratefully received. thanks joe

As far as I remember it's just a straight 15 way D-type. If your control panel isn't talking to the crate it may be that they have incompatible firmware installed. Are you certain that the panel belongs to the crate? Did it work once? Have you reset the crate?

Be aware that the T8c has all sorts of colour gain problems once you start keying.

hi, i bought it off ebay about a month ago supposeidly "working" but i dont think it is, i also bought another one that was faulty about a week ago hoping to swap some of the boards etc to get one working but this one was a later version with the power supply built into the control panel, i tried swapping the chips with the ic holders on between one and the other and the faults stayed the same on both of them, ive spoke to someone else who also has one of these that is faulty or missing a board im going to try to swap some of the boards to get one working, i have yet to get to a stage where the picture is effected by the controls.

The version with power supply in control panel definitely runs different firmware and won't talk to a crate expecting the older panel. I drove myself mad trying to make all three of our crates work with any control panel. Try getting onto Vistek - they bought Cox and sold the T8 as a Vistek T8000.

The only thing I can think of is to ask Vistek in the UK. Now that video has gone digital, nobody is going to hang onto an indifferent mixer.

Pro-Bel buying Vistek sounds highly likely. What's wrong with the mixer, and is it a T8 (composite) or T8C (component)?
