OK ... Why not ???? Use the bowl, fill in just the bottom with resin to get the desired depth (lets say 1 1/2") and cut the hole for the driver.

Then you would have to cut a channel to slip it over the speaker, so the trailing edge fell behind the front of the box.

Would it work?????

That it pretty much how i imagined it... i keep my eyes open for easy to play with plastic bowls...

Dave,
does it have to be plastic? Ikea have wooden (bamboo) bowls that cost a pittance. When going to look at them - have someone blindfold you, though. If you don't you'll come up with a truckful of things that might inspire new projects.

I have no ready access to ikea... i have seen the bamboo bowls, i didn't really think them suitable.
