Interesting, yes, but one would think they'd exhibit some pretty weird lobing effects.

I especially love the part at the end where anyone that purchases the speakers must sign a non-disclosure agreement...

Look at the submitted polar picture where an ideal Bessel summation is made with ideal crossover filter at 5 kHz assuming ideal point sources. In the reality it’s much worse.

My bet is they aren't actually a bessel array as such, but simply power-tapered.

So, 6 FE167E (probably) + super-tweeter. I expect massive HF attenuation as those wavefronts are going to cancel each other out something chronic, and also cripple the tweeter output in addition to their own. Espeically given that the two groups of 3 drivers are spaced a heck of a long way apart. It might work if the tweeter isn't attenuated down to the main driver output, as is often the case -a kind of very basic EQ. But I have grave doubts. And as for the idea that it's 'pioneered' by him... er, I think not.

... and how does he wind up with 8 ohms?
Each of the drivers is 8 ohms. Assuming a series/parallel arrangement of 6 drivers, he can wind up with 5.33 ohms or 12 ohms. I can't see how he arrived at a total impedance of 8 ohms?
