JMR Trente's as Full Range Enclosure?

Long story short..... I was given a pair of JMR Trente's (TL type enclosure w/ 6" dual voice coil driver and pod type tweeter) that were damaged during shipping. After sorting out the x-over carnage and powering them up, I noticed one woofers and tweeter were also damaged. As new parts from JMR are $$ and these speakers are rated at 88dB (20W min) sensitivity, they really aren’t well suited for recently built 8wpc 300B SET. Honestly, they sound better through my roommates inexpensive Phillips all-in-one bookshelf unit.

So my question to the forum is......would these JMR enclosures be a good candidate for a full range driver? If so, which driver make, size, etc would be best suited? I eventually would like to build a Martin King, Frugal Horn, Bob Brines, etc type enclosure, but for the time being I was hoping this would provide a good opportunity to experience the flavor of full range on the cheap.

Attached are sketches of the internal dimensions.

Thanks in advance for any help.

The speaker cut out is 5-3/4"

The perimeter around the cutout is routed/recessed for the driver to sit flush with the front of the cabinet.

What would make this a good candidate, other than its size?

Take a look at the driver here:

The PDF shows the basic dimensions for the FE167, looks like it could drop right in to your boxes. This will give you something to play music thru while you decide/build a proper cab. for them. They won't have much bass output in those small boxes BTW. The FE167 is direct replacement for Martin's ML-TL project 2:

Also look at Bob's folded version:

Thanks for the replys!

Looks like I'll try the 167E's in hopes of putting them into a better enclosure some time in the future.

Just for kicks, any other suggestions out there? I could build an adapter plate for the 5-3/4" cutout IF a smaller (possibly cheaper) driver would yield better results.

Although I'd love to play with the MathCAD sims, dedicated time needed to overcome the learning curve is limited at the moment:(
