Hello,
For ease of build, which do you think takes the cake? The I-BIB or Metronome? For tweaking the lining/stuffing is the I-BIB more finicky (for the mid not to leak out) BTW, it would be for 5" widerangers: Impedance (Ohm) : 8 ohm Sensitivity (dB) : 91 Fs : 80 Hz Re : 6.85 ohm Res : 38 ohm Qms : 2.8 Qes : 0.51 Qts : 0.43 BL : 5.37 Xmax : 3 mm Cms : 689 ìm/N Mms : 3.13 g Vas : 6.04 L Sd : 76 sq. cm. Le : 0.25 mH Note that I mentioned I-BIB since the drivers have high Fs (80Hz). The driver's Q is very similar to the FE127E, but everything else is different plus the Xmax seems to be on the higher side. So I'm not sure if both enclosure dims for the 127E (BIB and Metronome) would easily drop in for my drivers, or if further mods on the dims are needed. I find it quite interesting that gychang found the Metronome a bit lacking in bass with his RS drivers than the BIBs he built. While johninCR's FE108EZ Metronome (or 'Monument') has adequate bass even for someone who frequently uses a sub. Of course they both use different drivers (and amps etc.) and have different rooms, so that comes into play to... Thank you. fred |

Hi Fred
I would go for a Metronome cabinet but then I'm biased With that 3mm xMax you should be able to get some serious noise. With an Fs of 80Hz you would probably need to use a sub though. I don't have the facility to model a pair of cabs. Scott or Dave might be able to help. Steve. |
