Metronome for FE207e

Here is a link to a plan I found for a metronome for the Fostex FE207e.

On the front view, there appears to be a board extending above and below the driver, but I don't see any reference to it on the side view.

Does anybody know its size, place and function in the design?

The board you mention is an optional bracing panel. It's mounted between the front and rear panels, with a section routed out to brace the rear of the driver magnet to the rear panel, which cuts down on vibrations in the driver's frame. You can achieve something similar by bracing the rear of the magnet to the rear panel with a length of thick dowel-rod, but this is more effective. Exact length of the panel isn't critical, & it's got numerous holes cut into it, so there's more air than material -bit like a piece of cheese.
