Anyone ever consider putting the Aura NS3-194-8E's in BIB's?
http://www.madisound.com/cgi-bin/ind...28.98&pid=1705 I have these laying in my room, ready for their new home which was going to be the Delsol project. But now Im starting to wonder if I can squeeze a little more low end out of them. Something like 65-60HZ roll off or lower would be great. They have somewhat similar specs to the Tang Bang 871s which already has a BIB designed. Thoughts? -Sergio |

Not really -these drivers aren't an ideal candidate for a BIB. Lowest you can practically get from these is 90Hz, unless you want other parts of the FR to vanish, which will give a very short line indeed, and very limited coupling to the room (which they need).

maybe a cyburgs needle? the TB has a quite high fs , and a needle can get 50hz in room from it.

search "cyburgs needle" on google. i didnt do a thorough check of the parameters, but if they are at all similar to the TBs, then this may work. you should porbably ask someone more knowledgeable if it is actually a good idea.

They are not exactly similar, but who knows I have no idea how they would work. Heres the design for a cyburg needle for the tang bang W3-871 Cyburgs-Needle for Tangband W3-871S
Thoughts? |

yeah thats what i meant, i figured it may work if the specs are close enough, but im not an expert beyond that...

871 Specs:
Fs: 110 Hz Qms: 6.57 Qes: .65 Qts: .59 Aura Specs: Fs 125 Hz Qms 5.64 Qes 0.68 Qts 0.61 FS is a little far off than I remember, they are semi close... |

id 6tend to think close enough for government work. I know the needle works for both visaton fs80 and tb, so if the difference between the specs fo the tb and aura are less than the dif between tb and fs80, id say we have a feasable design option.
