Hey everyone.
I have six Philips AD 7080/m4 drivers. I got these for free. All are in perfect condition.
Does anyone have any information about those?
I don't know any parameters. Maybe I should try OB?
Comments...
(My english is quite poor and i'm sure there is some mistakes )
Thanks
Mikko

Hi Mikko,
Those drivers look mint! Sorry, I have no info to offer, I have 4 of the smaller version, also free. They sound surprisingly good in OB, but not amazing.
I wouldn't try putting yours in boxes until you have more info, you could try OB first.
Regards,
Jeff

I'd try to get them measured at some point. Also, I think the paper surrounds tend to get brittle over time, so maybe some dope (silicone?) on the surrounds.
I believe they were taken out of some sort of TV or radio console and would therefore be designed for an open/infinite baffle type of use. I'll bet their Qts is somewhere around 1.0.

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

Hi!
I've got a pair of Philips AD3800AM's, wich are 7,5"
Mounted them in a pair of full-size Voigt pipes (2,44 Meters high)
do the same and you'll be supprised of how good these ol' drivers sound
If you want more info on my voigts, the discussion once started at:

cheers!
