www.planet10-hifi.com Dave isn't the cheapest seller, but adds value by highly modifying the drivers, with cone modifications (you can also have the cones any colour you fancy) heavy damping of the basket and magnet, and shaping of the rear air-flow around it. This is not voodoo I hasten to add: the differences are measurable, and take the standard driver to another level. As in, Sigma quality.

In the US buy stock drivers from Madisound.
In Canada you'll get the best price from madisound... Solen's wholesale price is more than Madisound's retail, especially with the plummetted USD -- DO NOT have then sent by UPS. They ship to me by DHL which works great but i'm buying at least 20 units at a time (that is where the dealer price break is) -- Post is best if DHL doesn't work for small quantities If you don't want to deal with the border, by all means get drivers from Solen, but (see below) I only sell modified drivers (only way to make any money given the skinny margins), and my price is essentially Solen's retail for stock drivers. Having lived with modified drivers, i couldn't live with stock ones. (i promise to get a more comprehensive mod page than the info on the FR Forum, for those that already have drivers or want to do it themselves) Surprisingly, most of the drivers i sell (that don't go into our own boxes) head off to Europe. dave

Mr frog, it sounds like you've had a chance to hear the tweaked drivers in a properly designed box; what's harder to evaluate is the experience and R&D they entail. Sometimes "free" is too expensive. |

Hey Dave,
I didn't know you sell modified drivers. Will have to try them out the next time. Cheers, Dennis |
