spiral PVC horn fostex 108 sigma
hello fanatics,
Here is a horn I built from pvc elbows using the fostex 108sigma drivers. They sound great but probably could use some adjustments.
I built them using trial and error.
web site: http://tpluspod.com/rtl/fostex PVChorn.html
plus these I started working on after the PVC
link: http://tpluspod.com/rtl/fostex geodesic horn.html
Contrary to what some people think, the PVC horns where developed prior to seeing certain web sites.
When there were less of these types of sites available to peruse.
There are plenty of creative people out here, those familiar with designing know similar ideas often arise independantly. I don't think any one person has a monopoly on creativity.

Yes I was attracted to this right away.
See the post below a bit for the professional (not my)
evaluation by GM.
He is saying that the line (number of swirls) can be
reduced to comply with transmission line theory.
Your nautilus is a straight pipe or TL and the
driver specs dictate the actual length of the line.
I would call this design the Rams Horn or Shofar
because, as the other post points out, the Nautilus
is a different design concept (has a closed end.)
Lots of room for experimentation I would say. It's
very sculptural and I wisht I had thought of curling up
my PVC pipes which are sort of idle right now with
RS 1197's in them.
