Default Goodmans Axiom 80 / 201: anyone got some measured T/S parameters?

I think I asked it in the title... don't know what to say now, other than to say if you can post them, I'd be greatful. I know there are the original specs available elsewhere on the net, but I'd like to know the Qes & Qms etc.

I realise that after all this time, chances are there will be a fair bit of variation between drivers, but an approximate is better than nothing at all.

Cheers
Scott

I never managed to find them Scott! My one regret is that I didn't ask Dave Smith to measure mine when he rebuilt them.

Curses! Oh well, life would be boring if we knew everything... there's still some room for art after all. I'll let you know why I was asking at the end of Feburary. By then, I might have learned how to use a camera too... ;-)

OK... I'll whisper it now I've had chance to do some checking, and have found out it should work fine.

Anyone for a bipole? Take 2 Goodmans 201s. Now add 2 Eminence Beta 12LTA 12" drivers (apparantly similar parameters). Double the original Goodmans 200 litre enclosure design, keep the Goodmans as the front drivers and use the Eminence drivers in the rear. Should provide a nice sense of 'scale' to a recording... The alternative was a couple of Jensen Imperials, which should be even better, but they wouldn't fit in his basement...

Cheers
Scott

Scott, I originally had my 201's in 120 litre boxes and the thought of 400 litres even scares this hi-fi addicted batchelor!

I think I will stick to my OB's with the 'soon to be' dipole woofers using a pair of Max Pentivent 1230's for each channel.

But don't let me stop you from coming up with these weekend projects!

Tell me about it. They wouldn't even fit through my doorway, let alone work in the room. But Mike (the bloke I came up with these things for) is luckily blessed with lots of space. You know the way some people do loft conversions by completely bashing out the ceiling of one upstairs room, so you have a sort of large platform around it? Well, that's what he's done, in reverse, for his basement. Gives people quite a fright when they walk into the kitchen, and find a big square hole in the middle of it (with bannisters around obviously, apart from the staircase!). Seems a bit odd to me, but there you have it. Makes him happy, and his partner doesn't mid -it means the speakers are out of her way!

I look forward to reading about your dipole woofers -I've experiemted with them myself in the past, with excellent results, so I'll be interested to learn of your own experiences here and over on DD!

Cheers
Scott

Scott, does that mean that you found some parameters for the 201s?

Nope, unfortunately. However, Thorsten suggests the Eminence drivers can be used in the original Goodmans enclosure to very good effect, so I was working on the basis that if they both work in the same enclosure, chances are the parameters are fairly similar. If they aren't something funny's going on! If they are slightly off, then a small circuit should solve any major issues. That's the theory anyway.

Default Axiom 80 specs

Hi Scott, I should have some Axiom 80 specs available in the not too distant future.

Now *that* is a driver that commands some bucks.
