The 8 and 6.5 inch Audio Nirvanas sat on our floor for a while
but finally made it into the system. They are quite good,
and hold up at the extreme top, although they seem to need
some subtle equalization of the shelving variety to balance it all
out. I'm going to put in more time with them to get the response
where I want it, and I'll let you know what I get.

In the meantime, I think they're worth the effort at the price,
for those of you who have been sitting on the fence.

...... Which I suspect is quite a few poeple
Anyway, since these speakers probably will end up as this years x-mas project I'll be looking forward to your findings. So thanks.

Once you get in the ballpark using Rick's "TLs for Dummies" tables, you still should model in Martin's software to dial the design in.

Nelson,
Thanks to enlighten this thread. And Yes afordable they are.

Planet10,
>>OQR = ML-TL (and most of the time less than optimal from sims done)
Yes, but the article of Rick Schultz convinced me to have a try, and as Nelson says
they will need a little tweak, but the global inside volume 11"*11"*52 has very good WAF acceptance ; compared to the 2 stacked enclosures with vents for 145 lit each,
then a Replikon would get both WAF and little volume... Roemild gave me advise
length : 0,9 m ; mouth area : 80cm² ; opening area : 55*35 cm
driver volume : 20-25 liters (just a guess) Worth a try...
And leave the "sims" ; "welcome to the real world!" { Matrix: Morpheous to Neo}

Zoran,
FE168sigma didn't find one...Only FE168EZ available... the > 5K is tricky...

What ever the Audio Nirvana 6.5" gives they will make 2 decent little bookshelf
speakers ; a good gift for Christmas!!!

The Supravox 215 RTF 64 Bicône will be next, I got a chance to listen to
one just out of the box, without baffle ; wouahhh !!!
Plus, there is now a Supravox importer in Quebec

Regards.

Yes, Isaid that maybe it will be a problem to find
FE168sigma...
But if You are intension to go to Supravox, it is another story...
They have a range of excelent drivers
single cone also...
and if You even listen to 215 You know what I am talking about...
but price is very high

Hi,

Just received my 2 * Audio Nirvana 6.5" this morning,
they are plugged on the Old NAD 350, wouah...

They will work 2/3 full days for break-in , but frankly I think this
will give life to a beautifull set of speakers...

Form first listening directly on the floor, beautifull mid-range and heights.

See you in a few days...

Regards.

Alain.

kmj,

>> For the "bump" around 2500-5500Hz....

I did break-in the Audio Nirvana 6.1/2" for about 150 hours
of real music. Mostly I was not home at this time...

Yesterday I did a listening test with Stereophile TEST CD 2
using the midrange decade and the trebel decade tracks 17/18
and no, there is no bump in this area...

I have traced the "Omega Quartewave Reflex"
using MDF 19mm plus Maple veneer = 19.5mm
Solid angles with Red maple rounded 3/4"

External dimensions:
width: 9.1/2" {speaker placement}
long: 15.75"
height: 53.1/2"
Driver height: 42.75" ; stuffing 2/3rd upper height.

Internal dimensions:
width: 8"
long: 14.25"
height: 52"

Alain.
