Zaph Hi-Vi B3S: Active filter?

I am keen to build this as a first speaker project.

Since I have some experience with electronics and have been looking at active X-overs recently I am very interested in the possibility of putting the filter before the amp rather than after.

Has anyone done this and/or got any helpful suggestions?

I plan on doing the same thing Peter, in fact I am planning to incorporate the active filters into my chipamps to make some decent sounding powered speakers...
