8-sided? A cube is 6 sided, add 2 chamfers and that's 8? Am I missing some sort of "other world" mathematics or counting scheme?

Dave's logic is that chamfers as wide as these ( close to 2" IIRC), renders them as an additional pair of sides. Not exactly other worldly, but certainly extra-planetary - 10 that is
