howdy,
This is mostly a fullrange project hence its posting here.
I am going to try a active crossover for a project. Using Visaton B200 full range and then a 15" or two for the bass.
The candidates I have found are
http://lcaudio.com/index.php?page=13
and
http://welbornelabs.com/acm.htm
Anyone have experience with either or suggest another?
I plan to crossover at ~100hz / 12dB
Any advise / suggestions?
This is my first attempt with an active crossover.
Thanks
Andrew

you can get free filter design software from Texas Instruments -- and it works very nicely -- just enter "FilterPro" in their search engine.
in FilterPro you can adjust the "Q" of the cascaded filters -- so it is easy to design Linkwitz-Reilly filters -- probably not a bad idea to look at Linkwitz's website for his insights.

Andrew,
if your XO range is around 100hz, why not use a dedicated subwoofer plate amp? It seems for the prices you are looking at you could get a XO with a amp built in! This guy has some pretty nice ones and you could get one with an LT specific to your setup.

His ServoSubs are some of the most musical subs I have ever heard. For the money they are unbeatable. I bought two! Just a thought.
Cheers,
AJ
