Maybe you had the oportunity to listen to an I-Trigue 3400 3x 1inch fullrange array sat and sub system? I bought one for the pc and it has great localisation and clarity. I measured it and compensated it with eq due to lack of lower midrange and some relative hf loss.
Here is the Windows Media Player EQ if you happen to use an I-Trigue. |

I use many, and I think that Quicktime has the best clarity. But I thought that presenting the Media Player EQ settings was the most universal reference so anybody can relate to, experiment, and migrate the needed EQ to his favorite player since each one has different central frequencies, Q, and intensity.
