Does anyone know if you can get MCM drivers in the UK anywhere? Specifically, the MCM 55-1870 (a fullranger). Any info would be much appreciated, thanks.

Try Farnell. Here in Hong Kong they have been stocking some of the MCM drivers.

This used to be available from CPC with the code LS00403, or at least it looked identical...

Hi,
you can get it from Spectrum Audio in germany. Click "Produkte", "Breitbandlautsprecher", go down to MCM. Yes, it´s no bargain anymore but that is with most drivers that are imported. Just have a look at the Radio Shack drivers or the Pioneer fullrange on that site. For a giggle. greets

57 euros! Well, that was really disappointing. I hope I can get them somewhere else |

Hi bigwill,
I wouldn't call the 1870 a full ranger. It needs a tweeter and a woofer. I am using a few of them for my HT set up. The only reason I chose them is because I got them for $5 Cdn each instead of the regular $13 USD. They're not that good of a driver. They are more of a mid-bass. What were you planning with them? I intended run them as full range with a tweeter as a helper driver. Actually, they would have been crossed over at 100Hz with the subwoofer covering everything below.
Ian J, the model that CPC does is similar but it doesn't go as high. I might actually use this instead, now that you mention it

Hi Bigwill,
they might just have a different spec here and still be the same driver - see what Cal says about them needing a tweeter. If you order them please let me know what CPC charges for delivery as I've thought about giving them a go too. Ian
