Bi amping has been covered a ton of times before, and it's no different to doing it with a coax than two physically seperate drivers. However, some designs like the Tannoys use EQ on the HF driver to maintain output at higher frequencies as the response falls off due to the shape of the wavequide. There is no reason this couldn't be added into an active xover.

Hi Brett,
I am not sure that Tannoy do fit EQ to the horn loaded hi freq unit to raise the HF output due to horn/waveguide loading. They do fit a multi-tapped autotransformer to the HF unit to reduce the output to more closely match the coax mid/bass unit and use the multi tapping for user adjustment. Tannoy also add in a capacitor to roll off the hi freq from the HF unit again user adjustable.
