i was poking around looking for information on speakers and enclosures and came apon this site in japanese.

http://www.spnet.ne.jp/~hasehiro/jyonnobi/jyonnobi.html

here is the page (below)i have thats translated a lil bit.

http://216.239.39.104/translate_c?h...&hl=en&lr=&rls=GGLD,GGLD:2004-11,GGLD:en&sa=N

however if you put the URL in the google language translator,it gets quite a bit readable.

anyways,if you look at enough of the different speakers, what i thought at first was CNC cut out of blocks of glued up wood turns out to be the big blocks cut out on the band saw,and inserted inside the cabinets,it makes it so say 3 different size cabs and maybe 12 different size inside parts, and when swapped you get a new speaker cabinete.

kinda like them pistols that comes with three barrel sizes, swap one over, and go from 22 to say 38 in a few seconds. well these speakers are just like that(well as much as i can see and decipher).

oh yeah,if i was reading them correctly, they run on (at least more than a few do) fostex drivers. a single driver.if you look closly it says FE127 or FE167 or fe208 or whatever. so i know they were made to the correct size for the fostex,....basicaly a blueprint if you were to copy it.
there is one model that takes two,but i didnt even look ar it..heh heh heh

so there ya have it. im wondering how to make boxes like that or similer, without a bandsaw.
maybe make a full size patern, trace it in one side, and build up with smaller pieces and glue/epoxy?? i dont know,i thought they looked interesting enough to have in here to gab about.

well, later,

roy
