I am building a pair of ML TL with the Fe207e and are woundering if the performance will suffer I doubble the baffelthicknes. My concern is that the back of the driver will not be as deep into the enclosure as the original plan.

AFAIK, you should be fine. Be sure to make the hole on the inner layer of wood is much larger, to prevent it from reflecting back to the driver, but apart from that, you should be fine, methinks.

You could make an elegant taper to the inside also.

By the way i didn´t doublle the baffle thicknes and I think I will have to place a new layer of wood around the cabinet because it sings along quite well.
