I happened to notice on Madisound's Aura catalog (http://www.madisound.com/aurasound.html) that they have some new drivers. Of interest here is the 4" extended range. Neither they nor Aura themselves have anything more than the sketchy information on this page, but it looks like it has potential to compete with the new Adire driver at a lower cost (with probably lower build quality and nowhere near as cool aesthetics: CSS and Adire really nailed the look of their driver. It looks like on the low end it's got about a 12% output deficit (same xmax, 50cm^2 Sd vs. 57cm^2 for the Adire/CSS driver).
It looks like the interesting wideband driver market is really heating up! Now if only we could see some larger dual-concentrics with trick motors like the XBL^2 and NRT....
