ok,
yeah I know I am in the process of a Jordan JX92s bipole. But, I am looking at some others including Fostex. I do have power (>15W tube). Out of all the Fostex drivers and Jordans... which should I go for??? >95db eff is not really what I am looking for. decent bass (down to 70Hz at least), flat response and NON droopy highs. I don't really want to go to horn loading. So, sealed or BR. Thanks!! |

If you want a wide sweet spot, you might want to go with a double bass reflex using a Fostex FE127E driver. Only about $37, and will meet your bass criteria (down to the 50's in a DBR enclosure.)
The cone, at 4.5", is small enough not to beam the highs (or need a whizzer like the 206's.) GnD

There are just too many good choices (which is why Full-rangers tend to have more than one set of speakers
nothing wrong with the JX92 bipole FX200 is another one to consider... and Visaton B200 and FE167 in BoB Brine's ML-TL or bipole FE103 (actually bipole any of these and i could go on...and on ... and on... dave planet10/currently listening to a set of 8" refugees from Capital Iron ($20 invetsed)...
