Default Wharfdale W2 and a horn

Hello all, I just happened to come across a pair of Wharfdale W2's, a 12" woofer and a 5" super tweeter. Would like to know if its do'able to build a mid horn to go on top with a tweeter of some sort.I like a lot of the old retro speakers, that seemed to use large drivers in a ported cab with a mid horn and tweeter on top. If this is doable, what horn can I go for?

Thanks

Mike

Default Super tweeter duff

The surround has disintegrated and I think the voice coil has melted in the gap

It's not a supertweeter ( a tweeter used to extend frequency extension beyond 20000 Hz ) but it's the name of the tweeter: Super 5
Indeed it's difficult for a 5" to have very high treble emission.

About the original question, which is horn tw Vs. replacement
Yes, original replacement might seem odd. Indeed, it is.
On the other hand, experimenting with modern 5" fullrange drivers ( cone drivers) and 12 " woofers crossed in the 300 Hz zone ...
Well, the "old way" might still sound good- we take for granted that the actual tweeter doesn't go past 16 kHz, maybe 17, right ?! - even that's not really the focus I would point to...
Oh well...general rule for me is to "cover the hole" then proceed with the enclosure upside down, where the distance to the margin with the woofer is minor.
Then, determine approssimatevely the sensitivity of the driver - that's not a problem because the horn + tweeter combination is well above 100 dB
Then buy the driver(s) and all that jazz
