Thanks H8T3R!

I'll say it again, I love those flared speaker cutouts! I gotta try that next time. Actually, maybe I will try it on my port hole on this box!!! That would look great.

That is a sweet battery pack too. I also forgot to mention that I need to add protection to mine. I already killed one of my cells by leaving it on all night... argh!

That TAS5613 looks powerful! I have never really heard of it mainly because I have been testing cheaper stuff. I will keep that in mind for future projects.

And finally thanks for the lining info and pics! This week I will focus on finishing this thing up.

Just a quick update, this is the all new 29,4v , 5ah battery made of liitokala 26650's . After I tested it, it was all warped in black electrical tape , the white plastic piece at the bottom is a lighter mounting bracket that screws down to back wall inside the speaker.

Very cool! Again I like the flared speaker openings! And the BT antenna guard is very nice.

I'm curious how you fed the BT module? Isn't that 5V?

Come on! You gotta keep making them! LOL

I am about to build another one here. Got some 5.5" speakers that just fit into the cans that I can buy around here. (50 cal) I'm considering only ONE woofer and then a mid or tweeter(or both). Only issue there is I have to "sum" the input signal to mono and either use one channel of a stereo amp OR find a mono amp... Hmmm

I think the best solution is to get a mono amp, class d amps should always have load in both channels, at least what I've heard. Or you could connect woofer and tweeter to separate channels, you need somekind of crossover anyway.

TPA3118 is quite decent mono amp and costs next to nothing, I've tried one. But I didn't find a type with a built in bluetooth so you have to get it also.

Summing the signal is quite easy with just two resistors, just pick the values depending on your source.

BT module gets 5V from step-down DC converter it's zip-tied to main power cables , it's visible in the photo this blue Sanwu board has it's own DC-DC isolated converter so it limits the ground loop noise effect from step down converter.

Board has it's own pdigital output for antenna .

Nenola is right mono TPA3118 are the most Bang for the buck amplifiers and you would probably need some kind of crossover for tweeter and for woofer.

No, unfortunately :(

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

Most have a "15" inside a triangle on top. I figure some sort of gasket under the lid, some caulking inside to deal, and some stuffing/lining and they would work with a pair of TC9FD.

I've got an older one with the (11) mark on top, just like on the front of my 5,45x39 Tantal

I've got a 1938 wz.29 Mauser rifle marked F.B. Radom, but not with the logo.

legit vintage ammo boxes ,they look quite air tight , after some modding they could make a decent speaker box. Two of those boxes were filled with blanks ("SLEPE"). Totally off topic 5,45x39 Tantal is a cool flavor of Ak if you are into guns especially Ak family. Nasty round though whole made to tumble when it hits the target sh**t , nasty.

wz.39 is a nice piece, with some history behind it.

I love my Tantal. I'm a big fan of the AK variants, I'm up to a dozen or so now, I like building them and using them. Polish, Yugo(serb) and Hungarian being my favorites. My Tantal is dead nuts accurate, practically zero recoil, and the 5,45 is a very capable (and nasty!) cartridge. Beautiful bakelite handguard too. My favorite semiauto, right next to my M72B1 Yugo RPK :)

The SLEPE boxes are the ones that might be offered up to science, after initial research. The other boxes are full of the appropriate calibers for easy storage in the garage :)

I've got another somewhere that originally held grenades.

I figure a divider down the middle, some foam to seal the lid to the divider/sides, and some stuffing should make a rugged box out of one of these that should sound good for outdoor type activity (fishing, camping, shooting, barbecue, etc)

Nice , I'm a gun-head too, altough it's so convoluted to geat a gun permit here , EU hates the idea of armed individuals , commercial Gun ranges florish though and they are well equipped and quite affordable. I have never shot Tantal got some experience with AKMS wz80 and Beryl WZ96 , which I assume has similar kick to Tantal since it's 5.56.

Yep, this should work , maybe some silicone of sorts to seel inside edges and the rest as You said .

So there is one more box I would like to share , once again it's made of largest ammo box I could find. In terms of internal construction its made of hybrid 2mm steel sheet and reinforced 10mm plywood box. Speaker wise there are four , 2inch fender soft dome neo tweeters , four 2ich aluminium mid deivers , four 3,5 inch sony carbon woofers and three 5ich bose richbass woofers. Whole thing is powered by 29,4V lipo with bms and tas5613 amplifier with csra64215 and PCM5102A DAC bluetooth module combo. On the back and left side you can find five passive radiators, 146 mm outer diameter each.

Sound wise this one definitelly beats previous one , base is deep, punchy and over all very satisfying , highs and mids are quite decent also definitely more present and defined than previous one.Only If You stay below 70% volume altough over all it sound great there is one fatal flaw to the construction of the speakers , the pasive rads surface area is to small and you can't realy crank the volume all the way.
