Kindly tell me how to measure the piston area for a 4x6" oval speaker. Thanks in advance.

The area of an ellipse (oval) can be calculated by multiplying the length of the major axis by the length of the minor axis, then multiplying by pi. Pi is a constant used in equations involving circles, and is always equal to the same value -- approximately 3.14 -- though it can be extended to an infinite number of decimal places. So the formula for ellipse area is A = pi x major axis x minor axis.

thanks, Mike. But what of its diameter, since it has two of them? My program asks for its diameter as apart of a function to determine its Vas. thanks again.

Then just use the diameter of a circle of equivalent area. Providing all other data remains static, for a basic Vas calculation the software you're using won't give a trajectory copulation about the shape per se.
