portable speakers

hi ,
I am planning on making some portable speakers for a friend of mine , this is what I have narrowed it down to .

2X 3 inch peerless full range drivers enclosed in 5L cabinet , driven with a PAM8610 powered by old laptop batteries .
Speaker Details :-

For the enclosure I am thinking may be a 5inch Dia PVC PIPE of 40CM length or a aluminum channel of dimension 12X 12 X 40CM would do it , I would like suggestions on the choice of enclosures , as I dont have a lot of tools to work with opting a material that is already available would be great...

Model it in WinISD or similar to get a feel for appropriate enclosure volumes and porting (if ported).

Yep I did it and came up with a ported design of 5L ... what I want to know is, using a 3mm aluminum enclosure or a Pvc pipe of appropriate volume a good idea or not

A properly exectuted Al or PVC pipe box should work fine.
