I have seen some speaker designs that cover part of the driver with a curved piece of wood. Wish I could remember which it was, but someone must know.

Which is a piece of plastic covering part of the driver.
Is there a chance that this technology could be used on full range drivers? Either with a curved piece of plastic or metal as shown or with just a right angle covering ~40% of the driver?

the little red K-coupler is close in aspect and aperture height to Fig. 3 of Karlson's 1951 "Acoustic Transducers" patent's illustrations and has its vent above its curved reflector. The Karlsonator by Greg B. (also with a top vent) has the driver in an offset path.
