I also Read The resonator frequency 250hz.
I calculated The Formula I found The box dimensions depend on chosen tuning frequency and Vas..
I can do The math.
Can you mention what is resanator frequency?(Math Formula?)
What is The difference or relation with box tuning frequency?
I will also write The Formula so Someone can also check its truthness..
Thanks(there are a lot of Karlsanotor people here, not to much interest about this clever bass reflex Design...

Slmnklyc,

The formula for Helmholtz resonator frequency is:

F = (v/2*pi) * sqrt(A/Vl) where v = velocity of sound, A = vent area, V = box volume, and l = vent length. Vent length is just the thickness of the box. I think the box stuffing is intended to damp out high frequencies which are provided by the open baffle. Good luck luck with this.

Eq For baffles compenses(check it before use it!):
Fb^2*Vb*(2*pi/c^2)=h/Ln(R2/R1)
Fb tuning freq.
Vb net Volume
C speed of sound
R2 outer Radius of port
R1 inner(beginning) Radius of port
h height of port.

1-Choose The bass reflex alignment suitable For your Drivers.
2-Calculate The Fb and find The suggested Vb wrt your BR alignment.
3-Now left side of eq. is a fix number.
4-Give values to 2 of R2,R1,h And find The left one.
5-So you have port dimensions.
6-Add volumes(bracing,Driver inside The cabinet part) to Vb.
7-Now you have The box Volume.
8-Choose The dimensions wrt box Volume and adjust them wrt port dimensions.
9-After build , measure it and adjust box Volume again.(I don't know how to do this, yet :) )
10-Turn The Outer shape of The port to square.
. Square area: A^2=sqrt(pi)*R2

I have not oppurtunity and Money to try this, but I will!!

This is the 'boat' I've been in for many years, though hopefully only for about another one, then get test gear, new saw blades, etc., and see how much I can do before old age cripples me too much.

Anyway, thanks for all the effort! Hope it works well enough to just fine the gap, otherwise all I know to do is calculate a shelf vent reflex and hope it's close enough to do it.
