Default are banana plug binding posts conductive?

I know the inside is, to carry the signal, but I am wondering if the posts are insulated.

The reason I ask is because I want to instal the jacks in an aluminum enclosure, and Iím wondering if I am going to have problems if the entire post is conductive and not insulated.

Does that make sense?

Depends on the binding post. The ones i use for chassis mount usually have a plastic shoulder that fits into the hole in the chassis and the conductive part is isolated from the chassis -- this is probably typical).

Do you mean the jack that mounts to the enclosure into which you insert the plug?

No problem. Look here and run your cursor over the thumbnail.
