What is best 4"/5" driver around 50/60 euro for BR enclosure

Hi there,
I'm planning to build a pair of bookshelf speaker in BR enclosure with a maximum volume of 15lt. I'm looking for a FR driver with decent bass performance, and a warm and emotional sound rather than analytical. I'll use a tpa3116 amp.

i've taken in consideration w4-1337, here in comparison with a scanspeak:

Faital Pro 4FE32 $36ea. 91dB. Smooth. Good strong Nd motor and lower Qts for smaller cabinet.

More money isn't always best. For some great sounding budget fun, you can't beat a Dayton PA130-8 $18 ea. It will reach 65Hz but is very sensitive and great midrange.

I have not heard this one but it looks interesting. Up to 15khz with carbon fiber cone and low Qts for vented compact box.

Thank you guys for you advices, i suspect fostex to be too thin and harsh for my taste but maybe more accurate. Do you think tangband drivers not to be a good choice, they are not a good bang for the buck?

Tang Bands are nice but W4-1320 sounds a bit dark in HF's. I think the Faital Pro just sounds more neutral and has higher sensitivity at lower price. It doesn't look cool though - boring industrial black. Neither does the PA130-8 about looking cool. No cast frames no phase plug.

A pair of MarkAudio CHP-70's or CHR-70's should suit you. Ordering them from Madisound in the USwould cost 150 euros shipped. I know that's outside your budget, but they're made exactly for what you want and the enclosure would be well within your size request. Some folks say the CHP-70 needs help on the higher end. I don't agree. I have a pair in Planet 10 Audio slim golden ratio enclosures and they sounds great.
Even the CHN-70, which is only 27 US dollars plays quite nicely in a small enclosure. I have a pair on my desk at work. They would cost a little more than 100 euros shipped.

I second the recommendation for the Chr70. Great little drivers that do very well in vented enclosures. We've done several builds of varying size and all worked well.

I would avoid the CHN70 - it has just about the most-colored output of any 4in fullrange there is. For more info look in this thread:

Note that this is the gen-1 CHP-70 and has better top-end vs the CHP-70 Gen-2 which mikejennens has suggested. Also please note that this is a discontinued driver and was not available in the USA (hence Mike has suggested the Gen-2), so please check with the vendor if they have it in stock in case you wish to buy.

The CHP-70 gen-1 works in bass-reflex cabs and the Frugal Horn Mk3; there are some 2/driver cabinet designs also if you are looking for more oomph/higher SPLs.

Yeas, a lot of positive feedback about 1337. The only thing that gives me some doubt is huge peak in HF region. If to use it as fullrange speaker of course.

the HF peak is not a big deal, just listen to it slightly off-axis.

the W4 1320 is nice to, a little bit darker, but the voices are georgeous and the staging is OMG, the stage is bigger than the width of the two speakers.

I don't know the W5-2143, but I think it's nice too. Tang Band is a super brand, high quality.
