Hello Everyone,

I'm new here and looking for help with baffle dimensions and driver placement for my first project.

The following is my general concept:
- open baffle
- Alpair 7P
- Acoustic Elegance Dipole 18 woofer
- active crossover
- listening height of 50" off the floor
- probably a base of about 4 inches
- concerned most about smooth response and driver integration

I unsuccessfully tried to use the Edge program.

If you're just getting your feet wet, start with 2 54x23 3/4" panels cut from a 4x8' sheet of plywood, or mdf.
Your baffles.

Cut the remainder into 42"x 11 1/2" strips, fasten 2 of these to the back of your panel as wings/supports- as little as a 1" gap from the bottom of your panel will tilt the baffle back signifiCANTly, as well as reinforcing your 18" er bass output.
Keep the drivers off centre, and about 3' apart, this should allow a blend as high as 175 hertz.
I would flush mount your Alpair; I wouldn't bother with the 18" subdriver.
If you're going active, you can tweak from here easily.
And hey- have fun out there!
