I couldn't wait to build my first DIY speakers so when the RS100-4's came in the mail I got to cuttin cardboard lol. Started out with a crappy Version 1, then increased box size and decided to try out toilet paper roll ports for the hell of it and it actually worked! lol Its tuned to about 55hz according to WinISD and when I ran a tone generator through it, sure enough excursion dropped until about 55hz and then went up quickly below that. They actually sound really really good which surprised me haha. The only problem is the boxes are literally boxes, cubes. So theres a nasty resonance at 300hz from the box, but doesn't seem to be too audible.

I zipped a quick video from my phone so you could get an idea of what it looks like since videos can't be uploaded I believe.

Well anyways thought you guys would get a kick out of this! Now just to get some actual wood...

If you like quick and easy speakers that sound great, try foam core.

RS100-4 is a great and very versatile driver.

Try in an XKi.

Very few drivers can compete with this one in the sub $30 price point for quality of construction (cast frame with phase plug) and sound. It has 4mm of xmax which is huge and a moderate Qts perfectly suited for MLTL's.
