Default Formlabs 3D printed speaker driver

Speaker driver printed entirely in UV-cured resin (except the electromagnetics).

It probably sounds crap and there doesn't seem to be a proper magnetic circuit, but there's interesting potential here (flexible resin) for those who like to prototype things like replacement suspensions and spiders.

This is really pretty cool, and as you say, with some attention to a decent magnetic circuit, might yield a decent sounding speaker. I like the idea of a custom spider and/or surround.

RE the box itself: I see the design appeal of a see through acrylic speaker box, and I've been tempted myself. However, the lack of damping almost automatically precludes it from hifi. It really is stupid from a practical standpoint. A better solution might be a box that needs less damping, perhaps something like the 'hypercube' or other polyhedron. Some sort of 'sock' around the back of the driver holding damping material would be one way to damp out rear reflections without ruining the space age look.
