Default Audio Nirvana. Nelson Pass Test Findings?

Hi everyone.

Just wondering if Nelson Pass posted findings on tests with audio nirvana drivers in OB's anywhere? I have looked but cant seem to find too much.

Looking forward to any replies

Kind regards

Isaac

I have a collection of curves from the AN drivers (most of them) from a few
years back, and have not played with some later ones.

I have really only used them in OB's with something on the bottom - a good
example being the basic system is described in the Slot Loaded Baffle article,
showing the enclosure, woofer, and crossover electronics. They need little
or no EQ on the upper mid and top, especially if you are a little off axis.

They're good value, measure well, and I've commented on several
occasions that they sound very good in the context of price. You can
spend more to get more, but they would be a perfectly good start.

Appreciate your quick reply.

I have a pair of blh cabinets loosely based on the dallas 11(pretty close to specs).

Do you feel the A.N. super 10 would go okay in these and maybe, with tuning, do away with the need of a subwoofer?

I know its hard to comment, and I have no measurements to give on the cab's themselves, but thoughts are definitely welcome.

Kind regards

Isaac

Depends.

Mostly on your taste and how loud you play them.

Myself, I listen at pretty low levels, so some EQ on the bottom would
probably take care of your average jazz, baroque, vocal or lounge needs.
