Cornu spiral BLH (20 in x 3 in deep)
I've heard them in a 20" I am thinking a bit larger maybe?

24 in x 3.5in deep works better if you want deeper bass. It is a 3 in driver though so really should not go larger than that.
I would suggest the 0.4x scale mini Karlsonator for a nice desktop/bookshelf speaker. Good size and great sound without need for baffle step compensation. Should work well with NS3's. Check out recent measurement with Faital Pro 3FE25 here. http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/full-range/239338-mini-karlsonator-0-53x-dual-tc9fds.html
Don't be fooled by the small size or unorthodox look of this box. It sounds like a bigger speaker and the overall sound quality is great as many builders in this thread can attest.
