You can also make your own Alpha Class A amp to power your active system mid and tweeters.
Looks like a cool OB design.
What's the little one on top of the PRV mid?
because this is super tweeter fostex T90a, is it necessary for separate amp? my plan is just to add simple 1st order with prv, this is what I have done with audio nirvana super 8". I'm also watching HarschXO thread to incorporate with this design, which keep me thinking to use minidsp or just LXmini board for woofer and prv.
another minidsp might be best solution for full active 4ways but it seems more complicated

keep the Harsch for between the woofer and the PRV. The super tweeter can be a single cap and a resistor to match to the PRV (1st order), if needed.
Not so easy to daisy chain 2 miniDSP units, timing and master clock becomes a pain. Keep it simple.

I used two miniDSP 2x4 as a dual 1x4 so each one is its own channel. Pain to program twice for each channel but cost effective way that’s good for stand-alone speaker.

Ah, yes... using analogue inputs.
Sorry, I've been used to the HD version, and only go digital input. I don't like the analogue inputs.
already put the order for 1 pair prv, think later for the center channel.
looking at minidsp HD dac using the low grade AK chip seems not intuitive to re-convert from my analog dac output, but that's the only way now.
using powered optical splitter might be a good solution for dual 2x4 usage to avoid repetitive conversion and keep dsp in digital domain. it seems there is USB solution that can control thru pc for 2 minidsp HD
I have built state of the art dac on my own version for about $2.5k and later find out that going passive xo is not something that i can understand.
I don't want to jump into another thread of dac quality 😀 because i'm not in the state of buying anymore, already have them. just trying to find best usage of them

Having one computer and two USB Audio interfaces can be tricky. One has to be the master clock, the other the slave, but it is finicky, and often goes out of whack.
if the PRV unit is well behaved enough, you might be able to get away with a simple 1st order XO, a la X's 10f-RS225 speaker, and keep your nice DAC in the loop.
Having your DAC output analogue to a miniDSP that converts to digital and analogue again wouldn't be my choice of audio chain.
I'm sure with the combined help around here, we can come up with a passive XO.

MiniDSP has a digital input (Toslink, SPDIF, USB, AES/BEU) to 8 ch digital output miniSHARC and then select your I2C DAC.
paid the prv using Economy International shipment and hopefully no more extra customs fee that i should pay because partsexpress already mentioned "Includes Duties/Tax" for $42 🙂
keeping my dac on the loop and put minidsp for 21" & 12" and jfet xo for prv is my 1st priority. i had tried pllxo previously, i think that active filter is not difficult. only compensation circuit like shelving, bosst/dip treatment scarce me. but it seems this prv does not need too much equalization.
i'll be back for further request for final build within a month

I wish I understood this stuff better, I know My equipment is capable of all the digital stuffs but implementation knowledge is lacking.
I’m able to get audio via USB from one computer “ASUS gaming laptop” doesn’t work with My Microsoft Surface 3 and optical toslink from My TV but the spdif, AES/BEU is beyond Me.
I picked up a Minidsp amplifier that the AES/BEU would come in handy if I knew how to implement. I’m currently using as analog input amp.
Today I finished My Mini versions of My JBL woofers!
I’m using the Minidsp avr hda as a preamp “currently in Hong Kong being repaired” I still need to mount the PRVs to the microphone stands and chose an amplifier to use.
Fun little bedroom system!
I also have 2-Buttkicker LFE tactile transducers bolted to My bed for that extra little something something!
For the love of audio is there ever enough?
Currently using the boombox I built till the Minidsp returns.
Honestly the boombox with tactile transducers are more than plenty but I like building stuffs.
Sorry about the rant, I’m very excited that I’ve finished another set of woofer enclosures and looking forward to having this sound in My bedroom!
5yrs ago I had a spinal fusion surgery gone wrong leaving Me disabled, these are HUGE accomplishments for Me and priceless time spent with My Sons building memories!
How about that digital stuffs?
Are there any good tutorials or videos You might recommend to get educated?

boxed subwoofer to prv only? I'm not sure how the midbass integration but i will suggest additional woofer and use lower filter for the boxed subwoofer like Aino Gradient project
Aino gradient - a collaborative speaker project
this was also my interest but decided just build separate sealed subwoofer and keep all OB design
related to dsp, this product might give you another option. if anyone want to buy my dac, i will get this one
Hi-end DSP based multi-channel integrated Preamp/Crossover/DAC project

I remember a motel that had something like that .... 😉 😉. 😀
...related to dsp...
If you hadn't noticed this new one looks be a fantastic 8x DAC performer at €989 🙂

Hmmm...
So, 4 more channels and an even better DAC section than the miniDSP SHD, for the same price (without the Dirac processing).
Quite interesting.

...🙂 unit should raise a eyebrow here and there, in objective data over at ASR we get 8 channels DAC run over or on par audiophile 2 channels DAC then notice 32bit volume that can be remoted and big practical display plus ESS low pass filters are user adjustable and the real ballanced outputs with swing down at consumer voltage levels.
I think I remember a post or two about eyebrows! 😉
Thanks for the share Byrtt,
maybe a little trip to Czech Republic would be nice in a near future! 🙂

Greetings to all.
I would like to ask where you can find the data related to the PRV 5MR450-ndy speaker (files 0 ° .txt and Z.txt). Unfortunately I do not have any measurement equipment and as I would like to be able to better analyze the potential of this midrange I would need the relative files. I thank in advance those who wanted to give me the necessary suggestions. Kind regards.

Thanks for the heads up on this unit, Byrtt. Looks very nice. I did not catch which DSP engine they are using?
