Plenty of folks have built a conceptually same alignment, though usually with a round vent. Actual dimensions would of course be dependent on the driver's specs. It works quite well when done right.

Ha ah ! I just discovered one month ago that I had a pair of BOFU clones (not the Pioneer ones) installed in one of my very first prototypes. Indeed, I remind BOFU drivers ( that's a funny name😛 ) are good in BIB ( that's a nice acronym).
Now I expect some one else to come

Thank you for your reply’s. I've hacked a enclosure with a 3'' speaker just so see/ear how it sounds (crappy speaker for 10Eur: Fonestar UT336) and get some feeling about the problems in building that kind of wooden boxes. And I like it.
I also have some 7'' full range Philips speakers (30 year old) to use in a similar project but not quite certain about what type of enclosure I will use.
GM: Can you point some refs on a Voigt patent inspired enclosure?
Thanks.

The modern derivative is the ML-TQWT or ML-V. Quite a few have been done.

Let's not forget the [in]famous Lowther of Norway design that got many DIYers interested in Voigt's work: Lowther Club Of Norway - The Voigt Pipe

It seems that the modern versions of Voigt's pipe altered the aspect ratio over the years, from a more short and large enclosure to a high and thin one. I was thinking in building version of the Straight Pipe.
Thanks for all the replies.
