I found with a past design that having the Lowther pointing upwards with a reflector above had an unexpected bonus. If the reflector was set in slightly from the rear of the cone (so the very rear of the cone was not under the reflector), the peak on my PM6Cs at 2k-2.5k was just about eliminated. Probably pathlength difference cancellation, which in principal is a bad idea, but it sounded fine. (I used the design for years until I moved house and the speakers were too big.)
Not sure if the DX45 is close to a DX4 or DX55 but Nelson Pass built a pretty remarkable BLH called the Kleinhorn. If you have a whole room, you will need it.

I didn't even know about these new high Fs, low Vas, Lowther models till you posted, but for any 'small' app I'd design for it would include a 'sub' and if the budget allowed, driving it with a high output [preferably 'matching'] impedance amp.
