In the US, Parts Express has them and if you buy $100 or more shipping is free.

And these are even Italian! It's insane that a EU driver should be less expensive in the US.
Once you are doing arrays the efficiency advantage is moot though.

Recent measurements of the 4FE35 in an open baffle by BMS (Buildmesomething):

Click the image to open in full size.

This driver appears to be the real deal: 91 dB efficiency, moderately high Qts of 0.84, 2.7mm xmax, smooth response, low HD, pro-audio grade durability, $25.

Specs here: http://www.parts-express.com/pedocs/...ifications.pdf

some of these might make a nice but heavy headphone driver - my Faital 4fe30 sounded imo good but the main FR guys seemed not to comment. My Dynaphase 60 headphones are heavy but sound surprisingly good for using what looks like two little radio/tv speakers per cup - here's a pic (not my set) http://www.head-fi.org/image/id/2884574

Bought mine from Blue Aran here in the UK... shipping might be cheaper than from the U.S.

So far from what I've heard of the 4FE35's on an OB, they are very good... Like listening the Mark Audio Alpair A7 gen 3 driver at 15 off-axis. Lovely detail & dynamics without the HF being quite as in your face as the A7.3's.

BMS,
I have also been looking at the Nd version of this driver with lower Qts - wonder if it might be a good option for either the OB or a box speaker. The 4FE32 is slightly more expensive but may be good for situations where a Qts of about 0.5 is needed. Have you thought about getting these to try?

I have and am thinking of using them as part of a LX521 style build, if they don't work out, they can swap them out for the 4FE35's ...
