i will take the measurments for information sakes

there is a clear preferences from both my girlfriend and me toward the alpair on a fullrange mode.
ive then cross both the alpair and the coral at 100hz and 8 or 5 khz, the alpair was always the clear winner
the alpair is extremely balanced and the coral much more exciting but lacks of musicality, it doesnt flow like the alpair. At first i was really impress with the coral, the edginess really added some magic, but after a while you can hear their carachter and theres is a distinct coloration and a bit unnatural sounding.
the alpairs are really good so far and the best fullrange ive heard, even at really low level, its completely balanced.
im really surprise. and wont keep the corals. i will try the legendary vintage fullrange the jbl le8t.

Hi Murphy, can you say what kind of music? I'm wondering about acoustic stuff specifically. Thank you in advance.

dynablaster,

have you ever thought of running those small drivers you like so much in a square array of 4 ?

calcube uses 4.5" drivers.

You think of Coral Flat 5?
No, that never crossed my mind, and I have just 3 pairs of them, 1 Pair Flat 5, and 2 pairs Flat 5II... and mono I don't want to listen

How something like that could sound anyways?!

Right now I'm listening those

microdetails and separation are top notch, but there is a peak in HF, needs taming...

Yes flatcone 3", it's me

But there was something ridiculous going on, one of them was broken, had distortions, and when I sent it back, and got a new one, that, not 3D, but 4D magic was lost, really a mistery how a distorted driver can make such sonic picture and play better than a normal one... I must investigate, maybe it's something else...

4" is in my ears not that good as the 3", it needs heavy correction in HF, or a tweeter...
